The original beauty of your carpet from Hagaman Carpet can be maintained by following certain cleaning and maintenance procedures.

The appropriate use of walk off mats where needed reduces accumulation of soil. These mats should be cleaned frequently so then can collect soil before it finds it's way onto the carpet.

Proper vacuuming is the single most important step. A vacuum with strong suction and a properly serviced revolving brush or beater bar adjusted to the correct height should be used often enough to keep soil removed from the carpet. Local conditions dictate the frequency but the carpet should be vacuumed no less than weekly up to more than once a day in heavy traffic areas.

Spills and spots should be cleaned immediately as this can prevent permanent staining. When the appearance of your carpet indicates deeper cleaning we recommend use of hot water extraction by an experienced and capable professional. Various dry chemical methods can also be used for topical cleaning to advantage. Care must be exercised so there is no buildup of residues or chemicals due to such cleanings.

The use of a rotary bonnet is specifically not recommended.

In all deep cleaning do not over wet your carpet and dry as quickly as possible through the use of extractors, blowers, etc.

Any maintenance plan must be evaluated continuously so that the desired results are obtained within the budget. Keep in mind that minimum maintenance cost does not always result in savings because the useful life of your carpet may be compromised.
